Vice President for Research, Maynooth University
Ray O’Neill is Vice-President for Research and Innovation at Maynooth University. A physics professor, he studied atomic and molecular physics at Queen’s University, Belfast, UK, before joining Maynooth University in 1993. Since 2004 he has held various management positions at Maynooth including Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Dean of Graduate Studies. He chaired the Maynooth curriculum commission in which initiated and university –wide review and reform of the undergraduate curriculum in 2014-15. He is currently Vice-Chair of the European Universities Association Group on Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation.
