“The Discussion Paper ‘Assistive Technology for People with Disabilities and Older People’ is an important and timely contribution, with relevance for both policy and practice. One useful aspect is the consolidation in one place of the evidence and messages from a number of other Irish and international reports. The authors also provide significant added-value through their own analysis of the issues and their recommendations for policy and practice. I look forward to participating in the discussions on how to progress some of the core ideas raised in the report, such as the assistive technology passport, development of funding protocols, research and innovation, and progressing the development of a well-functioning ecosystem in this field in Ireland.”
